OHMG is proud to announce the successful completion of Phase 1 of the Fulacht Fia housing development at Mount Avenue, Dundalk, delivered on behalf of Louth County Council under the Social Housing Capital Investment Programme.
The milestone was officially marked during a site visit attended by James Browne, Kieran O’Donnell, elected representatives from across County Louth, members of the local community and representatives from OHMG and the wider project team.
Phase 1 of the development has delivered 52 high-quality social homes as part of the wider Fulacht Fia masterplan, which will ultimately provide 93 new homes for the Dundalk community. The completed homes comprise a carefully considered mix of house types designed to support a wide range of residents, including families, older people and individuals with additional accessibility requirements.
The project reflects OHMG’s continued commitment to delivering sustainable, community-focused residential developments that combine quality construction, thoughtful placemaking and long-term value for local authorities and residents alike. Speaking during the official opening, Minister James Browne highlighted the significance of the Government’s investment in housing delivery and praised the collaborative efforts involved in bringing the scheme forward. He described Fulacht Fia as a “worthwhile” investment and noted the positive impact the development will have in supporting local communities across Dundalk.
The development has also been recognised for its inclusive design approach, with several homes specifically designed to be age-friendly and disability accessible, supporting integrated living within a modern residential environment. OHMG worked closely with Louth County Council and the wider design team throughout the project to ensure the successful phased delivery of the development while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and programme management. The completed Phase 1 works include new homes, associated infrastructure, landscaping, pedestrian routes and public realm improvements which together create a welcoming and sustainable new community at Mount Avenue. Seanie O’Hare, Operations Director at OHMG, commented:
“Fulacht Fia represents another important milestone in delivering high-quality, sustainable housing for the Dundalk community. As Main Contractor, OHMG is proud to be working in partnership with Louth County Council to deliver 52 much-needed new homes at Phase 1 of this development. It was a pleasure to welcome Ministers James Browne TD and Kieran O’Donnell TD to site last Friday to showcase the excellent progress being made by our project team and supply chain partners. This project reflects our continued commitment to delivering durable, energy-efficient homes while supporting local employment and investment within the region”.
OHMG would like to thank Louth County Council, the project consultants, subcontractors, supply chain partners and the local community for their continued support throughout the delivery of the project.
