The project encompasses the development and construction of a new replacement Post Primary School, covering approximately 10,314m². The new school will feature a range of state-of-the-art sporting facilities, including 3G pitches, situated on the existing school site. To minimize disruption to current facilities, the works will be executed in phases.
The initial phase involves the construction of a temporary access route from Prince Andrew Way, facilitating the development of the lower pitch and a section of the new 3G pitch with a temporary surface. Subsequently, the construction of the new BREEAM Excellent school will commence. Once the transition from the existing school to the new facility is complete, the existing school will be systematically demolished and removed. The final phase will encompass the completion of all remaining external and site works.
The new school will be a multi-story complex, comprising both two-storey and three-storey sections, and will adhere to the DE Handbook regulations to ensure full compliance. The phased approach to construction is designed to ensure a smooth transition, allowing for the continued operation of essential facilities while the new school is being developed.
