The project involves the development and construction of a new DVA Test Centre & Office Accommodation building, along with comprehensive site works encompassing access roads, junction upgrades, and substantial retention structures to accommodate level changes (approximately 17m). The Test Centre building, covering an area of 3,942m2, is designed to include vehicle testing and plant zones, featuring a two-storey administrative block. The Test hall itself boasts a column-free portal frame structure, reaching an internal height of over 10m, complemented by an automated air quality system.
Adjacent to the Test Centre, a second building spanning 3,209m2 has been constructed to house office accommodation for 170 workstations. The offices are arranged around a three-storey open atrium void, with a vehicle storage area situated at the lower ground level. The overall development is poised to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating, a feat supported by the implementation of numerous sustainable initiatives in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. Notable features include photovoltaic arrays, solar panels, passive cooling solutions, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), and rainwater harvesting. This comprehensive approach underscores a commitment to environmental responsibility and energy efficiency in the design and execution of the project.
