Senior Engineer

Reporting to:                      Site Manager/Project Manager

Summary of Position       Management of surveying and setting out activities of all relevant elements. Provide technical advice to sub-contractors and the site team. Supervising sub-contractors and ensure their operations are being carried out in accordance with the approved Method Statement.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

• Act as the main technical adviser on site for subcontractors and the site team setting out, levelling and surveying the site
• Review drawings, specification, schedules, CAD and BIM data to extract relevant information
• Checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations
• Ensuring that all materials are procured as per specifications
• Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant in accordance with programme requirements
• Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect
• Liaising with, subcontractors, site team, planners, QS and the Design team
• Plan the work and efficiently organise site operations in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
• Management of all resources to achieve contractual completion of the project in a cost-effective manner
• Implementation of such duties as the Contracts Manager shall delegate relating to supervision and control of site operations
• Manage the deployment of labour, plant, material utilisation and sub-contractor performance.
• Prepare and monitor an Inspection and testing schedule
• Report situations, accidents or incidents that have led or may lead to injury, damage or an adverse environmental impact
• Assist during accident or incident investigations and implement agreed mitigation measures to prevent re-occurrence
• Prepare reports as required
• Saving of information to OHMG’s Common Data Environment (Dalux) as per existing folder structure
• Ensure compliance with H & S responsibilities as outlined in the Company Policy
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14,001 & 45,001 Management Systems
• Introduce improvements and innovation where appropriate to areas of responsibility

Essential Criterion

• BSc Civil Engineering/BSc Engineering and Management or equivalent
• Full driving licence and access to car
• CSR /CSCS Card (SOLAS Safe Pass card ROI) or equivalent to

 

Desirable Criterion

• Attained or working towards membership of ICE/MCIOB or other relevant body
• Experience with Mixed Use/Commercial Development
• 5 years post-graduate experience
