Health & Safety Officer
POST: Full time, site based Health & Safety Officer
Reporting to: Health & Safety Manager
Summary of Position Promote health and safety on site and co-ordinate accident prevention and health and safety measures within OHMG
Responsibilities & Duties
- Daily site inspections to ensure a hazard free environment
- Conduct weekly toolbox meetings
- Review and approve all subcontractors RAMS in conjunction with other site team members
- Undertake accident and near miss reports + investigation and maintaining all necessary records
- Conduct site induction for all persons attending site
- Promote safe practices on site, enforcing safety guidelines
- Maintain site records in relation to legislative guidelines regarding health & safety of plant and equipment
- Maintain and enforce fire compliance across the site in accordance with the site fire plan
- Establish and maintain health and safety communication structures and systems, distribution of health & safety specific documents to sub-contractors
- Review and update the health & safety construction phase plan including all other subordinate documents
- Provide support & guidance to site team in relation to health & safety legislative requirements
- Saving of information to OHMG’s Common Data Environment (Dalux) as per existing folder structure
- Ensure compliance with H & S responsibilities as outlined in the Company Policy
- Compliance with ISO 9001, 14,001 & 45,001 Management Systems
Essential criterion
Construction related degree
Desirable criterion
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar type job role
- Good communicator
- Strong technical understanding of construction techniques
- Ability to problem solve and offer realistic solutions
Remuneration
- Commensurate with qualifications & experience of candidate
